Is the content worth it? From taxes on beards to wergild (restitution for killing e.g. slaves) to taxes on lavish goods, animals, people of other beliefs, a tax to pay when not being in service to a feudal lord etc., we get 15 taxes, as promised – most with information on how much the respective tax costs.

Conclusion:

Editing and formatting are ok, I did notice a glitch, which is unnecessary at this length. Layout adheres to a no-fills 3-column standard and the pdf has no bookmarks for its one page. I like the idea of this pdf, but was somewhat disappointed – I thought I would get e.g. taxes on necromancy/healing/whatever – something decidedly fantasy and non-standard. Instead, these laws have their precedents in our own history and have simply been applied to a fantasy setting, without providing a guideline on how much each tax will cost. While most are covered, some of the taxes lack said information. That being said, 1 dollar is cheap and thus my final verdict will be 3 stars – a nice little buy, but if you’re looking for uncommon taxes, look elsewhere.
