Dear readers!

Turns out I am not alone among the folks who really loved Rafael Chandler’s monster books!

Keith Davies of Echelon Game Design has written a couple of articles on the Teratic Tome!

Here you can find his conclusions, from a designer’s perspective, on what you can take away from the Teratic Tome regarding monster design:

And here is his article on Teratic Monster Design, which is certainly well worth reading!

Even better: Those monster-connections between creatures, these mini-myths and implied setting tidbits I loved in Lusus Naturae? Keith has gone through the hassle of making a graph that shows them all! You can find it here!

Thanks to Keith for bringing this to my attention!

Don’t know what I’ talking about?

Check out my reviews of the

Teratic Tome

and

Lusus Naturae.

Rafael Chandler’s Teratic Tome can be found here in pdf, and here on lulu in print.

Lusus Naturae can be found here in pdf…and the last copies of the hardcover are being sold at the Lamentations of the Flame Princess booth at Gencon.

Endzeitgeist out.
