It’s Monday! PC Troubles

It seems to be that time of the year again.

Somewhere between yesterday evening and this morning, my PC’s power adapter died. After the shock of a black screen, and a wonderful series of catastrophic scenarios in my brain, I thankfully was able to eliminate the CPU and RAM as the culprit, leaving only the power adapter.

Thankfully, I managed to get one quickly; unfortunately, I was sold the wrong one, missing PCI Express sockets. (Foolish me assumed competence on the side of the vendor – I brought my old adapter with me and told them I’d need that array of SATA, PCIe, etc. slots…)

Returning to the shop (yet another hour down the drain) yielded the helpful notion that they don’t currently have an appropriate adapter. After that, I cruised through the city, looking for one – and found one that fit my needs in the third shop.

Anyhow, long story short, posting this via phone, reviews will resume tomorrow, as that BS took me all day to resolve.

Cheers, and hope you had a less “Garfield-Monday” start of the week!

Endzeitgeist out.

I’m glad you got the problem resolved, even though it took a chunk of your day. On the bright side, I suppose, it turned out to be a “better” case scenario.
