Patreon-Update 11/2015

Dear patreons, dear readers!

It’s time again for me to recapitulate what I managed to crank out during the last month…but it’s also time for me to partake (albeit with a slight delay) in the tradition of Thanksgiving, a piece of American culture I consider thoroughly compelling:

First of all:

A huge, colossal, “thank you” to all of my patreons for the support shown during this year – when this year began, I was looking at a huge amount of issues and was unsure whether I’d be able to continue doing what I love. It is ONLY thanks to your generous support that I’m still around. So, my first “thank you” must belong to you and you alone – each single buck helps me and I truly value all of you. Thank you.

Secondly, my thanks obviously extend to all the awesome people and publishers out there in the roleplaying game community that rendered this year the most fulfilling regarding the writing of reviews so far. Not only did some of you jump in when I really needed you, you continue to spread joy via your books – perhaps one of the most valuable things we can do in this day and age. Since I am bound to forget some of you (Sorry!) and do not want to bore all of you with my soppy sentimentality, I’ll be brief: My thanks extend to, but are not limited to, in no particular order: AAW Games, Rite Publishing, Raging Swan Press, Drop Dead Studios, Little Red Goblin Games, Everyman Gaming, LPJ Design, Dreamscarred Press, Kobold Press, Mór Games, Flying Pincushion Games, TPK Games, Tripod Machine, Purple Duck Games and Fat Goblin Games – particularly to those publishers that send me the books I’m reviewing and especially those of you that provided design/development jobs for ole’ me. I’d also like to thank explicitly Greg Vaughan and the whole Frog God Games-crew, Will McCardell, Morgan Boehringer and Greg LaRose of Amora Game.

Beyond those, I’d like to thank Bradley Crouch of Interjection Games for actually pushing me to do start this patreon in the first place; I’d also like to personally thank Richard Develyn for the superb modules he crafts and his kindness. My gratitude also extend to Venger As’Nas Satanis, Dan Cross, my friend Chad Middleton and Wade Rockett, for sending me books of other systems to review and broaden my focus – turns out that alternating between systems keeps my mind fresh and rested. Finally, I’d like to thank my players, both at the table and online, for bearing with my constant playtesting. As always, my thanks also extend to Lou Agresta, Steven D. Russell and Paco Garcia Jaen of GMS magazine – I wouldn’t be doing this without you fine gentlemen! *takes a bow*

Okay, schmaltzy “thank yous” out of the way, what am I planning for December?

Well, first of all, a barrage of reviews; I will complete the Mythic Minis-series as well as the Dungeonlands-trilogy (since Machine of the Lich Queen was updated yesterday); I will also try hard to catch up with more than one publisher during this month and yes, you will see some rather unique reviews hit site.

I’m currently working on/aware of the following reviews you want me to prioritize:

-Lost in Dream: I’m still in the process of reading Matt Banach’s novel based on Coliseum Morpheuon; sorry, but fiction takes time to read and digest.

-Ryuutama: Natural Fantasy Roleplay: The chassis of the review for this system is done and I asked the patron on whether to go ahead and publish it now or whether to playtest more; he opted for more playtesting, so that’s what I’m doing – the review will hit site in December.

-Pixies on Parade: Playground Adventure’s second kid-friendly module will be playtested this week and hit site soon thereafter.

The following material is currently being playtested, but is so far not prioritized and may thus slide towards January:

-Path of War Expanded: The Mystic

-Paranormal Adventures

-Suzerain

As always, if you are eligible for a prioritized review, tell me as soon as possible what you want me to cover. One note, though: Due to the holidays, there may be minor delays; If any crop up, I’ll contact you!
