Patreon-Update 01/17

Dear patreons, dear readers!

A friend of mine once remarked that January is, metaphysically, the bleakest of months and I am inclined to agree. This month has been characterized, at least for me, by pretty much everything going not exactly as planned. Beyond technical issues and a growing sense of unease among many of us, the weather has been changing a lot around here, which tends to not be too great for me.

Still, and particularly in this trying times, I feel the need to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you out there that consider my little service for the RPG-industry worthwhile…and, more importantly, worth supporting. I am trying hard, working even harder, to maintain and raise the output you’ve come to expect from me. It is you, my patreons, who keep on the lights of this humble endeavor and, particularly in an age where short-lived buzz tends to overshadow and blur out honest attempts at “professional” criticism (as far as that’s possible), I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful I am that you exist and choose to support me.

As always, my dear patreons – if you are eligible to a prioritized review, please tell me as soon as possible so I can get it done in time. Similarly, even if you are not eligible to one, please do tell me what you’d like to see me cover – I try to take all requests, particularly those of my patreons, into account. Miscellaneous Musings-wise, my next post will be about my German perspective on Nazis and their depiction in the media. If you have any requests in that regard, feel free to shoot them my way!

Now, as for what February will bring: The final reviews of two long-standing series, for one. Rhûne as well. That setting’s review is cursed by the thrall-lords, I tell you. More catching up with some previously neglected publishers and smaller 3pps. A certain Falkenstein bestiary that proved to be much more work than anticipated. Some OSR-gems. Esoterrorist books….and, as always, much more!

This following text is aimed at my non-patreon readers:

Thank you so much for reading my reviews and ramblings; if you haven’t already, please be so kind and take a look at my patreon and consider supporting it. Every little bit helps and the more people contribute, the more stable it becomes – with tax season, the annual dip that accompanies it has hit me pretty hard. After currency-conversion, I’ll be taking a loss this month when totaling patreon versus running costs, which, if it remains that way, means that I may be forced to once again get an additional job, which would obviously require time I’d rather spend reviewing.  I’d certainly appreciate you taking a look.

You can find my patreon here.

As always, I remain yours,
Endzeitgeist out.

Despite the January is always bleak, your reviews have been pretty solid this month. And I’m happy to see the diversity in products beyond Pathfinder. Like Lamentations of the Flame Princess, some OSR and 5e. It’s really nice to see some other publishers as well beyond the standard. I’m happy to see a review of Goodman Games, Violent Media, Pelgrane Press, Etc
Even Misc Musings are a good break from reviews. It’s fun to read your thoughts on different things.
    Keep up the good work!
